Respected and admired for her exceptional artistic skills, american soprano Ellie Dehn has or will have engagements through 2015 in many of the world's leading opera house including Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, San Francisco Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Rome, Geneva, Bologna, Santa Cecilia and Houston Grand Opera. This 2011/12 season includes many exciting projects. Miss Dehn returns to San Francisco Opera to sing Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), and then makes her La Scala debut as Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann). She will join the cast in the Metropolitan Opera's new production of Don Giovanni as Donna Elvira. Ellie will also make her role debut as Helena (Midsummer Night's Dream) with Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, and will return to La Scala to sing Musetta (La Boheme).
Having made her 2007 Metropolitan Opera debut at Opera in the Parks as Marguerite in Faust, Miss Dehn made her house debut at the Met as Mrs. Naidoo in Philip Glass's Satyagraha, and also performed Musetta in La Boheme. She has also found a niche bringing life to several of Mozart's heroines. She has put her stamp on the Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro) in San Francisco, Houston Grand Opera, Tulsa Opera and Opera Pacific. She also portrayed the role of Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) with the Ravinia Festival, the Bayerische Staatsoper, Opera Pacific and PORT Opera. Ellie learned these roles, along with Fiordiligi, at the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. She also performed Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) with the Spoleto Festival USA.
During the past few seasons, Miss Dehn made Italian debuts in Rome as Musetta (La Boheme), with the Accademia di Santa Cecilia and Teatro Comunale di Bologna as Anne Truelove in new productions of The Rake's Progress, both
