Respected and admired for her exceptional artistic skills, american soprano Ellie Dehn has or will have engagements through 2012 in many of the world's leading opera house including Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, San Francisco Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Geneva, Bologna, Santa Cecilia and Houston Opera. This summer she will debut at Santa Fe Opera in the world premiere of Spratlan's Life is a Dream. Miss Dehn will perform the Countess with the San Francisco Opera and the Houston Grand Opera, and will return to the Metropolitan Opera as Musetta. Looking ahead, she makes her debut with Teatro alla Scala as Antonia in Les contes d'Hoffmann.
Having made her 2007 Metropolitan Opera debut at Opera in the Parks as Marguerite in Faust, Miss Dehn made her house debut at the Met as Mrs. Naidoo in Philip Glass' Satyagraha. During the past few seasons she has made numerous other exciting debuts, in San Diego as Mimi, in Geneva as Agathe in Der Freischütz, in Bilbao as Madame Cortese in Il viaggio a Reims, and in Los Angeles as Freia in Das Rheingold. She returned to Santa Cecila in Rome, where she sang Jemmy in Guillaume Tell and Madame Cortese in Il viaggio a Reims. She also was Juliette in Roméo et Juliette with Minnesota Opera, and was the title role in William Walton's Troilus and Cressida at the Opera Theater of St. Louis.
